Algerian TV Director General to look into shady deals signed with executive producers

The former Director General of the Algerian Television Abdelkader Leulmi has given his go ahead for the production of 11 projects slated for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, reliable sources revealed.

  • Among them a series entitled “ Orange fields”  made of 22 episodes of 45 minutes each produced by “ Maghreb Films” with a total coast of 60 million Algerian Dinars. Another historical series directed by Ammar Tribeche who started shooting recently.

  • The former Director General has set up a committee entrusted with evaluating the projects eight months before his departure. The committee whose main task was to assess the budgets allocated for the projects was led by Abdelmadjid Slamna.

  • Top managers took part this committee including Ait Amara as a head; Aziz Lerrari ( Deputy Head of Finance), Rachid Oufi ( Acting Head of Production Department) and many others.

  • The same source has indicated that one of the Executive producers called on the new Director General to start an inquiry on the some of the members who hold top managerial positions in some of the companies that sealed a contract with the Algerian TV.

  • The executive producer has asserted to Echourouk that one of the members is an accountant in one of the private companies which is led by the aunt of the former golden boy Abdelmumen Khalifa.

  • He has further added that the Algerian television will not refurbish its tarnished reputation if the current Director General keeps the same managers.
