US sources spoke, on Monday, about the death of the terrorist leader Mokhtar Belmokhtar, known as Balaouar, again.

The Wall Street Journal revealed that French military planes bombed positions in the south of Libya, by mid November, targeting Belaouar's whereabouts.

Famous American newspaper quoted, on its website, US officials as saying that during a raid by a French aircraft a senior al-Qaeda wanted leader was killed in the south of Libya this month, pointing to the existence of a new level of cooperation between France and the United States on targeting terrorists.

Same newspaper added: "This would not be the first time in which the United States believes that the raid wiped out Mokhtar Belmokhtar, as it proved repeatedly that those are false death reports. But based on what they described as high-quality intelligence work, US officials expressed greater confidence in the possibility of the success of the recent raid that was carried out by the French aircraft in the south of Libya, based in a part on intelligence information that it received from the United States earlier this month.

US officials asserted that the efforts were underway to determine the results of the raid, and they did not not confirm whether Belmokhtar was killed or not in the raid, according to the report published by "The Wall Street Journal", as it explained that the action is currently limited in monitoring and restricting the results of the raid, which left the death of one leader at least, while the newspaper "Liberation" said that seven members of the terrorist organization were killed in this raid.

A few days ago the Libyan news agency published details of the arrest of the wife of the leader of the organization "Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb", Mokhtar Belmokhtar, quoting the Information Office of the General Department for the fight against terrorism and destructive phenomena; and "Asma Bent Tahar Ben Mohammed" nicknamed "Kedoussi", who was killed in a perfect ambush south of the green mountain at "Mekhili" region in Tunisia, accompanied with the terrorist "Afaf Bent Mohamed El Maidani Ben Mohamed", nicknamed "Hadji", and a taxi driver who was paid a large sum of money to take the two women to Al-Jufrah region in southern Libya.
