Tunisian Ambassador to Algeria His Excellency, Abdelmadjid Fershichi, stated that the recent attack on a bus carrying Algerian tourists inside Tunisian territory was "a hapless incident and was never directed at the Algerian brothers" .

He thus stressed the full mobilization of the relevant security authorities in his country to provide maximum security for the Algerian tourists.

"What happened could happen anywhere in the world, but most importantly, the Tunisian security services and a quarter of an hour after the incident managed to arrest those involved in the bus attack," the Tunisian senior diplomat said in a statement to Echorouk.

He described the unfortunate incident as an isolated act which wasn’t directed specifically at the Algerians”, as he put it.

A number of Algerian tourists were injured when their bus was heavily pelted with stones while passing by through the Al-Zohour neighborhood of the capital Tunis.

The targeted bus was badly damaged while the driver faced the death risk with a serious injury to the face and was rushed to hospital.

This hapless incident was also widely denounced by numerous Tunisian activists through social networks.
