Mesbah returns to Switzerland’s championship

Former Algerian international player Djamal Mesbah returned to Switzerland’s championship as he joined Lausanne-Sport club which plays in the Swiss Super League.

The defender, 32, had played for Italy’s Crotone since Summer 2016. He quitted after the contract had expired.

According to Swiss news reports, Lausanne-Sport’s coach Fabio Celestini said Mesbah will play in his traditional position as left-back.

He praised Mesbah’s skills and experience which will be “beneficial for  left-back.”

He added that the player will start his training sessions on Thursday.

Mesbah is very familiar with the Swiss championship as he played for Servette FC between 2003 and 2004, FC Basel between 2006 and 2008 and FC Luzern in the following season.
