Leicester City’s Algerian football star Riyad Mahrez is cuurently a transfer target for Serie A giants AS Roma Club, according to “Sky Sports” media outlet in Italy.

Riyad Mahrez has been on Leicester’s books since signing from French team Le Havre in 2014 and helped them claim a highly-meritorious English Premier League triumph in 2015/16, earning with dazzling colors the PFA Player of the Year prize in the process.

The talented Fennec Foxes player also helped Leicester City reach the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League last season.

However, in May he handed in a transfer request in an effort to force through a move away from the King Power Stadium, with the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal reportedly interested in signing the Algeria international player.

Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare told “Sky Sports” last week that the club had yet to receive any offers for Riyad Mahrez, but this new interest from Italy’s AS Roma club may open up a new chapter in the saga.

The Italian club could view the Algerian winger as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, whom they sold to Liverpool last month.

Sources say AS Roma Management is ready to allocate 33 million Euros to make Riyad Mahrez join the Serie A Italian club in the current summer transfer market.
