US Congress announced that John P. Desrocher is appointed as America’s ambassador to Algiers to succeed Joan Polaschik.

The new ambassador told US Parliament that relations between the two countries were reinforced in the last few years.

He presented his program in Algeria, saying it includes three main axes: security cooperation reinforcement, commerce development and working with Algerian counterparts.

The US diplomat also said Algiers and Washington held high level talks with the involvement of enterprises from both countries.

He evoked strategic and military dialogue sessions which were held, saying that they show the value attributed by the two countries to their developing partnership.
