28 new weekly flights between Algeria and China
Algeria's national airline Air Algerie will launch 14 weekly flights to China along with 14 similar flights offered by China’s airline company, Chief Executive Officer said.
- The 28 flights due to start on February 22 are stipulated in an open sky agreement already signed by Algerian and Chinese authorities, Abdelouahid Bouabdellah said in a press conference in Algiers.
- He mentioned that negotiations are going on to open another line to Shanghai as well as talks about other possible lines to other Chinese towns.
- “We will add Shanghai and other Chinese towns sought by businessmen,” he said.
- According to Air Algérie’s CEO, Chinese are keen to enter Algerian market. “Because of that, Chinese manpower will invade Algeria after offering a large number of flights.”
- Earlier in April, the Air Algerie CEO said the airline planned to acquire major stakes in the capital of several African airline companies. It also plans to acquire 11 aircrafts including 4 of 70 seats, 7 of 150 seats and 2 cargos.
- Air Algerie, the third largest air carrier in Africa after South African Airways and Egyptair operates scheduled international services to 39 destinations in 28 countries in Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East.
