No ice at the Arctic: The future shocking reality

It is the first scientific mission to the North Pole that passes the northwest corridor, along America, and the northeast corridor, along Russia without an icebreaker machine.

 

  • Spokesman of the German Institute for Polar and Marine Research, Alfred Wegener, organizer of the mission said; “The mission returned Friday on board of the “Polarstern”, ship for the Scientific Arctic researches, to Bremerhaven, north of Germany”.

  • “It is the first Polar mission in which no ice breaker machine was used” he added.

  • “Polarstern” is the first ship to do such trip after “Bremerhaven” which left the Arctic last June12 with 177 scientists from 12 countries    to conduct some researches in the North Pole starting from Reykjavik, Iceland.

  • The European Space Agency announced last 7 October; “Largest summer melting operation ever happened last August since the Industrial satellites started their monitoring operations 30 years ago”.
  •  
  • These two corridors opening will allow commercial marine save time and fuel in the freight operations between Europe and Asia, because the distance will retreat for more than 4000 km.
