Algerian International Footballer Faouzi Ghoulam Awarded Title Of “Honorary Citizen” In Naples (Italy)

The local authorities of the Italian city of Naples extended the Algerian international football player Faouzi Ghoulam the title of “honorary citizen”.

A local official said that the authorities of the southern Italian capital will stage a concert for Faouzi Ghoulam in the next few days and will officially bestow upon him the title of “honorary citizen”.

He added that the honor would be meant as a certificate of good conduct, and also because of the outstanding on pitch performances of the Algerian international footballer with the Napoli team, since joining the squad in January 2014 for four and a half seasons.

As a recall, Faouzi Ghoulam has recently renewed his contract with Serie A side Napoli until the year 2022.

The 26-year-old’s current deal with the Italian first-league club had been due to expire on June 30 next year.

Ghoulam is currently sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury picked up in last month’s Champions League fixture versus England’s Manchester City.

Talented Defender Faouzi Ghoulam joined Napoli from French side Saint-Etienne in 2014 and has made 153 appearances for the Italian club.
