Algerian international football player Riyad Mahrez on Thursday spoke about the future of his career and the upcoming summer transfer market.
“I feel remorse for not joining this club (ie Manchester City) last January, but I need more time to think and to decide,” said Riyad Mahrez.
“I won’t tell you I’m going to Manchester City next summer, we’re looking forward to the transfer market and see what happens, but now I’m with Leicester City and everything is fine,” he told Sky Sports.
In a related context, the newspaper “La Corriere dello Sport” of Italy, on Thursday, said that the Management of the Club of AS Roma had renewed contacts with their counterparts from Leicester City, in a fresh bid to finally recruit the star of the “Greens” of Algeria.
It added that the large sum demanded by the “Foxes” English team was at the core of the negotiations.
Manchester City and AS Roma are the only two European clubs to have made a concrete bids to recruit Riyad Mahrez.
To this effect, French coach of Leicester city club, Claude Pyule, told the press in January that the Algerian player’s current value in the transfer market is worth 112 million Euros.
