Algerian Researcher Takes Part In Pfizer’s Vaccine Against COVID-19

Pfizer’s list for the vaccine candidates against Covid-19 includes the name of the Algerian researcher, Salim Bouguermouh, who graduated from the Algerian University and began his career in Algiers’ Mustapha Pacha Hospital.

The American laboratory Pfizer announced the list of candidates in the most important invention awaited by all mankind and included the name of the Algerian Professor Salim Bouguermouh, who is currently the assistant director in charge of clinical research and vaccine development in the company.

Professor Bouguermouh is considered a graduate of medicine from the University of Algiers in 1996, and in 2001 he obtained a diploma in “Medical Studies Specialized in Microbiology and Microbiology” at the same university.

The Algerian researcher’s first work experience was at the University Hospital “Mustapha Pacha”, Department of Pediatrics and Obstetrics, after which he held a position in Pierre and Marie Curie Center in the Department of Thoracic Surgery, then he moved to the Pasteur Institute in 1998-2001.

In 2007 the researcher decided to immigrate to Canada, and held several positions, including a doctor at the University of Montreal. He also joined the Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination (MCCEE).

The professor participated between 2010 and 2012 at the Massachusetts Institute for Technology (MIT) in Singapore majoring in Immunology and Microbiology.

Bouguermouh settled in the USA, joined Harvard University and obtained international certificates in 2014-2015, then took up the position of Assistant Director in Research and Development of Vaccines at Pfizer International Laboratories since 2017.

About the vaccine, Professor Salim Bouguermouh wrote on Linkedin saying; “Science will win. I am very proud and very lucky to be part of the team leading these clinical analyses.”

Pfizer said that experiments proved that the effectiveness of the vaccine against Covid-19 reached 90% and that it is developing the vaccine with the German company “Biontech”.
