Algiers Government Building Suicide Bombing: Trial Of Droukdel’s Assistants Is Postponed

Algiers Dar Bida criminal court postponed on Wednesday the case of three terrorists who were part of the group of the so-called “Fateh Bouderbala”, who is also nicknamed “Abdelfattah Abou Basir”, responsible for the bombings of the government palace and the Security Center of Bab Zouar in 2007, after judicial authorities took another decision, during the investigation, against the three terrorists “S.Adlane”, “B.Hacene” and “Sid Ahmed.”

The indictment chamber decided to refer the file during the current session to try the three suspects, after the trial of the other defendants before the Criminal Court of Appeal of Algiers Judicial Council, and to issue death sentences for the crime of organizing and joining terrorist groups, murder, vandalism and assault on citizens’ property.

Previously, Algiers Judicial Council issued the death penalty against the emir (leader) of the group, “Abdelmalek Droudkal”, called “Abu Musab Abdel Wadoud” for the same facts that left 20 dead and more than 220 wounded for the bombings of the Government building, and 11 dead and more than 100 wounded in the Security Center.

It should be noted that the bombings were attributed to the emir (leader) of Algiers sub-battalion “Fateh Bouderbala” because he was the coordinator and mastermind, and he was sentenced to several penalties, all of them are death sentences for his involvement in various criminal and terrorist acts, including the current file, after he was arrested on September 10, 2010, following an ambush in Reghaia,Algiers, where he possessed a pistol with two ammunition stores, a forged driver’s license, a fake national security card with his personal photo, and a series of documents which incite terrorist attacks.
