Trade Exchanges Between Algeria and Tunisia Reach 1.25 billion Euros

Algerians investors in Tourism sector will meet with their Tunisian counterparts, in Tunis by the mid next month, to exchange experiences and cooperation with the intention of Algeria to activate the tourism sector.

Organizer of the meeting, which will be held on November 17 and 18, Amel Hantous, said in a press conference on Tuesday, at the Aurassi Hotel in Algiers, that the meeting is the first of its kind in this area.

"It aims to exchange views and bring investors together for exchanging experiences and cooperation in this sector".

"Algeria's choice was not arbitrary, but to create the available opportunities for cooperation and investment in the tourism and hotel area, and the meeting will also notice the participation of more than 100 investors in this field".

For his part, Head of the Tunisian trade mission in Algeria, Riad Attia revealed that the volume of trade between the two countries reached last year 1.25 billion euros, as Algeria exports to Tunisia 750 million euros, and imports from it over 500 million euros, and he warned of a lack of communication between these two sides, which has an impact on raising the volume of trade exchange, asserting Tunisia's desire to invest in Algeria in the tourism, car and metal constructions' sectors.
