FIFA Rankings: “Greens Of Algeria Hold 48th Spot Worldwide”

The Algerian national football squad hold the 48th slot worldwide in the latest rankings compiled and published on Thursday (August 10th) by the World Football Governing Body (FIFA).

The Greens of Algeria also retain the 8th place in Africa and third at the Arab level, due to the lack of international competitions between early July and early August.

Regarding the Greens’ opponents in the World Cup qualifiers, Cameroon won one notch and climbed to the 35th spot worldwide. 

Nigeria for its part won one place and climbed to the 38th in the world rankings, while Zambia lost four points and rolled down to the 96th slot. 

The latter squad will face Algeria’s "Desert Warriors" between 2nd and 5th of next September, as part of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Concerning Algeria’s opponents in the 2019 African Nations Cup qualifiers, Benin won two notches and moved up to the 91st place. 

Togo lost 4 seats and rolled back to the 113th spot in the world. Gambia for its part won three points and climbed to 158th worldwide.

At the top of the standings, Brazil came back to first slot at world level, Germany was classified second, Argentina came third, Switzerland fourth and Poland fifth.
