Over 4.000 Algerians Apply For Schengen Visas Daily

Number of Algerians who have obtained a visa to enter the French territory under the Schengen space is estimated at over 120,000 Algerians at the level of the three consulates in Algiers, Annaba and Oran, while the European Union's figures about Algerians who obtain visas to enter the countries of "Schengen" space, arrived, during the same period, to 4000 requests per day.

An official source at the French consulate in Algeria told Echorouk that the number of visas granted to Algerians, during the first six months of the current year, until June,30, 2017, exceeded 120.000 Algerians at the level of the three consulates in Algiers, Annaba and Oran, with more than 75%, I.e out of the total of 120 requests that are accepted, only about 75 applications that are allowed, allowing the visa beneficiary to travel to all the European countries under the Schengen Convention, and the rest is being in a short- and long-term visas, while the rejection rate drops from 40 to 26%.

In a related context, the website of the French consulate in Algeria revealed on Sunday, that more than 23.000 Algerian students, who obtained a visa to continue their scientific project in French universities, noting that it granted them, over the past few years, more than 23.000 visas of the category "D".

The French consulate in Algeria confirmed on its website that it is always keen to make good travel visa applications, asserting that the process requires two steps, the first is specialized in the five cultural centers that are distributed to the national country, and the second step is to submit a file to the French consulate in Algeria, with the conditions that are agreed upon.

In contrast, according to the figures that are obtained from the European Union in Algeria, the rate of Algerian applicants to obtain the Schengen visas to enter the countries, reached more than 4,000 requests per day during the first six months of the current year.

In this context, a EU official confirmed that the European Union embassies registered a 10% increase in visa applications to 26 European countries, belonging to the Schengen space and that France is the highest-placed country for visa applications to enter its territories, as Visa France centers in Algiers, Annaba and Oran, receive every day more than 1,500 applications, increasing the number in some periods to 1700 applications per day, followed by Spain, Belgium and England.
