Qatar facilitates entry visa for Algerians

Qatar’s interior ministry Sunday announced new measures for Morocco and Algeria’s people to get visa.

According to a release issued by the ministry, Algerian and Moroccan applicants for visa should have residence declaration, valid visa of the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Schengen visa or Gulf Cooperation Council’s states.

The release said the exemption will be applicable staring by September 15th. It will allow visitors to get an electronic travel notification by filling an application form 48 hours at least in advance. The form is available on Applicants also should upload hotel booking, return ticket and a copy of the passport.

Visa for Qatar is valid for 30 days and can be extended to 30 more days. If the visitor leaves, he should apply for a new electronic travel notification if he wants to come back to Qatar.

Passports general administration director Mohamed Ahmed Al-Atiq said the a review operation is continuously conducted on visas policy in Qatar. 

He said the electronic travel notification procedure in favor of Morocco and Algeria’s people will contribute in cooperation and attracting visitors.

He added that Algerians and Moroccans who can not get the electronic travel notification could apply for travel visa via Qatar’s visas electronic portal.

President of tourism development at the ministry Hassan Al-Ibrahim said this new procedure comes as part of many developments in tourism scene. The ministry works on diversifying exporting markets of tourists to Qatar. 

He expressed his hope that the new measure would encourage Moroccans and Algerians to choose Doha to know about investment opportunities in the country.

He also said other procedures will be announced to diversify tourism markets.

Earlier in July, Qatar announced a platform for electronic visas for passengers of all nationalities. It exempted 80 states from visa.

In November 2016, Qatar issued a visa for free for passengers who spend five hours at least at Hamad International Airport. This enable them to stay in Qatar for four days.
