Djemai Calls Bouchareb To Withdraw From His Post As Chairman Of Parliament
The General Secretary of the National Liberation Front, Mohamed Djamai, asked the Speaker of the National People’s Assembly, Mouad Bouchareb, to present his resignation from his post in a civilized manner for the benefit of the country and the people.
Mohamed Djemai said, after his meeting with FLN’s Parliamentary Group, that he appealed to Bouchareb to put the interest of the country and the people above all considerations, by having the courage to resign from his post as chairman of the National People’s Council, in a civilized manner, especially as the popular movement, since its launch on February,22, demanded and still insists on his resignation because he is considered to be one of the popularly rejected officials.
Previously, the appointment of Mouad Bouchareb at the head of the Lower Chamber of Parliament, on October,24, came after the coup d’état against Said Bouhadja, who was the elected chairman of the council, where deputies at the time prevented him from entering the parliament building by closing the doors using a lock to force him to resign, then the name of Bouhadja became related to the “lock” incident since that date.
The split was repeated on the National Liberation Front (FLN) party, following the new elected General Secretary, Mohamed Djemai, who appointed Bouriah as the head of the parliamentary bloc, as the meeting witnessed a total absence of deputies with the presence of only 19 MPs out of more than 200 MPs.
On the other hand, the debate is still open about the new leadership, between supporters of the first decisions and members who totally opposed all its actions, especially in the light of the escalating popular movement that demanded and still demands the departure of all symbols of the former regime, headed by the Speaker of the National People’s Assembly Mouad Bouchareb, who still clings to his post as head of the Lower Chamber of Parliament.
