Egyptian Foreign Affairs Minister, Sameh Shoukry, said on Thursday that he had delivered a message from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune inviting him to visit Cairo.
Mr. Shoukry confirmed after being received in Algiers by President Tebboune that he had conveyed to him the greetings of Egyptian President El Sisi and congratulated him on his election as President of Algeria, adding that the message included strengthening bilateral relations and spurring them forward in various fields of endeavor.
Mr. Sameh Shoukry also pointed out that the importance of joint work at the regional level was addressed during the encounter in light of the convergence of views between the two countries and common challenges, stressing that the Libyan file was also discussed as one of the most important common challenges facing the two countries.
He also indicated that the two sides underlined the imperious need of stopping the conflict and the Libyan bloodshed by fostering a consensual political settlement that brings together all the parties at issue.
The two sides, he added, also agreed to reject any foreign interference in Libya and strive to prevent any foreign parties from interfering in this brotherly neighbor country thus further exacerbating the ongoing crisis.
