French President Emmanuel Marcon and his Foreign Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, congratulated the Algerians on the 65th anniversary of the Liberation Revolution Day.
“On the occasion of the Algerian National Day, I send my sincere greetings to the Algerian people”, Macron tweeted on his own Twitter account.
In the tweet, Macron praised the “spirit of responsibility that the Algerians had at this crucial time” and expressed his wish that Algerians will meet the challenges of the future with free dialogue.
For his part, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian congratulated the Algerians on the 65th anniversary of the liberation revolution.
“I extend my congratulations to the Algerian authorities and people”, he said. “France’s wish today is that Algerians would together find their way to a democratic transition.”
“Only the Algerians have the decision to determine their fate in the future,” he added, noting that France’s wish for Algeria lies in the existence of in-depth ties with Algeria.
Le Drian also hailed the spirit of responsibility and good organization that Algerians have shown since the start of the protests.
