European Parliament’s Resolution, An Attempt To Hit Algeria’s Reputation

Association of Senates, Shoora and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World (ASSECAA) announced its strong condemnation and categorical rejection of the resolution issued by the European Parliament, considering it a “blatant interference” in Algeria’s internal affairs.

ASSICAA stated on Wednesday that its General Secretariat followed “with great regret the European Parliament’s decision to approve, last Thursday, a resolution on human rights conditions in Algeria and this is a blatant interference in Algerian internal affairs without any regard for the sovereignty, independence and unity of this important Arab country”.

“Accordingly, the General Secretariat of the AASSICA expresses its strong condemnation and denunciation of the European Parliament’s decision as it represents a blatant interference in the internal affairs of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria”, affirming its categorical rejection of this decision and its complete stand with the Algerian government, people and parliament in confronting all the miserable attempts that aim to undermine the sovereignty, reputation and prestige of this country.

“It is not the first time that the European Parliament issued such slanders against Algeria. A similar attempt was made last year, which means that there is a systematic targeting against Algeria sponsored by the European Parliament”, ASSICAA asserted calling the European Parliament to respect the principles upon which the United Nations was based on non-interference in the internal affairs of states and the Declaration on the Principles of International Law calling for good neighbourliness and the strengthening of friendly relations, cooperation and mutual respect between states.
