The country’s political class denounced what it described as “false statements” issued by a French government channel that attacked Algeria and criticized the way it fought against the Corona epidemic, considering it an “abhorrent” intervention aimed at stirring strife and destabilizing national stability and dismally trying to export its deficit to others.
A leader of the Movement of a society of peace (MSP), Nasser Hamadadouche, affirmed that the statements made by a French government channel, which criticized the way Algeria deals with the Corona virus epidemic, is an attempt to interfere in the affairs of our country at a very sensitive time, saying: “France is the last to be entitled to give lessons in democracy.
He said to this effect: “France ought to “deal with its own internal affairs and not export its glaring deficit to others”.
The MSP leader indicated in a statement to “Echorouk”: “The Corona crisis has proven the failure and the inability of the countries that claim scientific development and social welfare to manage the ongoing pandemic,” stressing: “This pandemic is greater than the capabilities of the advanced countries, and therefore there is no benefit from overbidding it, and making up crises with it,” adding that “the Algerian state is dealing with its own internal affairs and its international cooperation … It seems that the French annoyance indicates a state of weakness and flabby posture that France is now experiencing”.
For his part, the head of the National Construction Movement, Abdelkader Bengrina, considered the recent defamatory statements targeting Algeria aired by a French public TV channel as aimed at “stirring up discord and destabilization”.
Bengrina said in a post on his official page on Twitter: “As usual, and during crises, whenever official France is unable to express a position that is against our popular gifts in our national solidarity, its political and cultural elites declare their animosity today, and this is what happened today and to boot in a state-owned public TV channel”.
This time – Bengrina added –these heinous allegations issued from one of the trumpets known for its hatred against Algeria, in order to provoke sedition and destabilize, at a time when the world is experiencing an unprecedented crisis due to the Corona virus pandemic, which has destabilized global systems and exposed by the same token France’s blatant weaknesses.
According to the former presidential candidate, “The relations of cooperation, good neighborliness and partnership among countries will be built only on correct rules along which the Algerian people recovered their full rights in the face of the heinous French colonial crimes and at that time relations were built with the logic of interests and clubs”.
He added, “We, as an Algerian people, whatever the scope of the crisis, we will not forget that.” We must always refer to our history by clinging to our November 1954 glorious Revolution reference and do not tolerate those who lie in wait for our present and our future, especially at a time when the lethal Corona virus pandemic is threatening all humanity”.
