France, Italy and Spain Are Boycotted By Algerians Due To Visa Problems

It is expected that nearly 5 million Algerians will travel this year for tourism reasons, according to the expectations of tourism and travel agents that are active in the national market, while Turkey ranks first in terms of the turnout by Algerians followed by Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt, while European countries like Italy, Spain and France are “quasi-boycotted” difficulty of obtaining a Schengen visa problems.

Head of the Association of Tourist Agencies, Elias Senoussi, revealed the influx of a large proportion of Algerian tourists to Turkey during the month of August, saying that this country ranked first in this summer’s turnout, followed by Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt, while European countries received reluctance such as Spain, Italy and France, to which the individual travels for either shopping or business.

Senoussi explained in a statement to Echorouk that Turkey was the top country that received great attention by Algerian tourists, and surpassed all other countries, including neighboring countries, as Tunisia ranks second, which remains the compulsory option for many Algerians who want to go abroad for holiday and do not have enough money for that.

According to the spokesman, the cost of living in Tunisia for a week is between 30.000 and 35.000 DZD if traveling is by road, as for Turkey, the cost of a week reaches between DZD 10.000 and 20.000, and may cost more depending on the nature of the visit and the quality of hotels,

On the other hand, Morocco occupies the third place with DZD 80.000 a week, and then Egypt, specifically, Sharm El Sheikh at the same price, which is DZD 80.000.

With regard to the devaluation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar, Senoussi denied that this affects the prices of orientation towards Turkey, saying: “On the contrary, the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar and the continuation of the situation as well, may lead to higher prices there instead of falling and increasing levels of inflation”.

However, he asserted that Turkey enjoys great interest from Algerians, by virtue of the good quality of the provided services, and the aesthetic services of the country and the way of dealing with foreign tourists, which he described as very hasty, compared with others.

The same spokesman said that Tunisia and despite the scenarios that are presented to the Algerians there, but that remains only individual incidents and can not be circulated to everyone, and the prices of this country remain the lowest for Algerians in light of the high prices that are experienced by other countries, and in contrast, he explained that Italy, France and Spain are witnessing a sharp reluctance by Algerians during the summer season, where they are no longer moving to these European countries because of the problem of visa.
