France: Murderer Of Algerian National “Labidi” Arrested In Marseille

French police arrested on Saturday night the murderer of a young Algerian boxing coach aged 31 in the southern French city of Marseille, who was shot dead on March 24th of this year by unknown assailants with bullets in his head.

The victim was gunned down in front of the door of his shop specialized in the sale of foodstuffs in the neighborhood of Koncila in the center of Marseille, while his companion, an Algerian young man was also injured in the heinous attack, after receiving a bullet in the chest.

After five months from the assassination of the young man namely “Labidi Sassi”, French police has conducted a series of in-depth investigations into the criminal case, on the basis of the forensic doctor’s reports, and on the testimony of the survivor of the crime, and this finally led to the identification of the murderer and to his immediate arrest after the latter re-entered French territory.

The French police also succeeded in retrieving the crime instrument, a 90-mm automatic pistol and live ammunition.

The arrest of the murderer of Mr. “Labidi Sassi” is the second of the like that the French police succeeded in carrying out after the end of last week with the arrest of the murderer of the late “Kamel Sanani,” a 50-year-old Algerian man hailing from Annaba, who was also shot dead in Marseille, last Tuesday night.

Since the beginning of the year, France and precisely the city of Marseille has witnessed a series of horrendous murders targeting 11 Algerian nationals, 9 of whom originated from Khenchela province, as well as from the provinces of Tlemcen and Annaba.
