Gaid Salah: “It Is Time To Purge The Country From Corruption”

The priority is to expedite the election of the President of the Republic and all the necessary conditions should be prepared for the organization of the presidential elections and must be compiled as soon as possible and in the best conditions of transparency and credibility, the Major. General, Ahmed Gaid Salah, Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army said, on Monday, in a briefing with army officials, during a working visit and inspection to the units of the third military region in Bechar (southern Algeria).

He warned at the same time those who consider elections to be an option and not a necessity, and for whom democracy means to indulge in the quagmire of appointment, and confirmed that the armed forces will protect justice from any source to perform its tasks and address all the files fairly, and that he supports the adoption of constitutional solutions to go out of the crisis.

“Dialogue is the only way to bring about the rupture that is called by the people”, threatening those involved in corruption cases that there is no limited power to fight against corruption and there is no exception for anyone and that the army is keen to fight corruption before the presidential elections.

Gaid Salah asserted, in a speech to the army frames from the province of Bechar, that the spoilers abused the “public money” and thought they can receive support to infringe the rights of the people.

“It is time to let them face justice and it is time to cleanse our country from everyone who thinks he can disturb the living of the Algerian people through such practices, and all those who blocked the horizon in front of the Algerians and instilled in them fear and despair of the future”.

“All the indicators confirm that the economic crisis that is experienced by our country is due primarily to the poor management by some officials who have lost all the ingredients of the commitment, and did not take into account the weight of responsibility that they should respect”.

“The main reason for the country’s economic crisis is the corruption of some officials because they thought public money was permissible and can be taken away as they wished and at whatever time they wanted, without supervision or accountability, and without taking into consideration the weight of responsibility they should have been respected”.

Ahmed Gaid Salah noted that the weight of the files that are presented to justice clearly shows that the owners of these files have lost all the elements of commitment and all the requirements of responsibility by exploiting their functions, influence, and authority to violate the laws and abuse their controls and are completely contrary to those hypocritical speeches that they gave to the people.
