Matteo Salvini: “I Will Be In Algeria At The End Of The summer, I Will Stop Illegal Immigration”

Italian Interior Minister, Matteo Salvini, said he would soon be in Algeria, probably at the end of the summer, on a mission to stop the flow of Algerian illegal immigrants on Sardinia, and asserted that his country would no longer be spending its money on illegal immigrants.

Italian Interior Minister, who is also deputy Prime Minister, spoke in an interview with the newspaper “Unione Sarda” that is issued on the island of Sardinia, said in response to a question about a letter to the President of the province of Sardinia, Francesco Belliaro, in which he asked to intervene to stop the flow of Algerian illegal immigrants by saying: “I will answer the territory of Sardinia and this matter we have begun to work on it since several days.”

The Italian Minister, who is belonging to the far-right Northern League, said: “We have to intervene to stop the arrival of boats of less than 10 to 15 people .. These boats come mainly from Tunisia and Algeria.”

Asked whether the Interior Ministry had specific steps to make, Matteo Salvini said: “The only way to intervene is to go to the spot … just like I did in Libya.”

Salvini revealed that by the end of this summer he will travel to Tunisia and Algeria for the same purpose, which is to combat clandestine immigration and stop the arrival of boats to the island.

The Italian minister promised to stop the expenses of the government of his country on the coming illegal immigrants, by freezing the 35 euros that is spent daily on illegal immigrants, adding that the benefit from the freezing these expenses, will be in the form of aid to countries that are exporting illegal immigrants in troubled Africa, and help the development of agriculture, fishing, health, education and other projects.

Matteo Salvini recently announced a visit to the three Maghreb countries (Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco) in the context of combating the phenomenon of illegal immigration, and the allocation of $ 1 billion to help the Maghreb and African countries, which accept the deportation of their citizens through economic projects.
