Ould Ali: “President Bouteflika’s Decision To Back Morocco’s Bid To Host 2026 World Cup Was Taken With Pride”

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. El Hadi Ould Ali confirmed on Saturday that the decision of His Excellency, the President of the Republic Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika to support Morocco in its bid to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup was taken with pride.
“I am committed to this sovereign decision to support Algeria’s file in favor of Morocco’s hosting of the World Cup,” said Mr. Ould Ali, at a press conference at the end of his working visit to El Bayadh province on Saturday.
Morocco has chosen former Algerian international footballer Lakhdar Beloumi, among some sports figures with the aim of backing up Morocco’s bid to host the 2026 football World Cup, and the Algerian international has received official approval from the Algerian authorities to provide “support” for Morocco’s bid to host the 2026 World Cup.
On the other hand, the Minister underscored that the relationship between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Algerian Football Federation and other sports Federations must strive in close conjunction so as to ensure the smooth development and promotion of all Algerian sports as well as enabling athletes of various disciplines with a view to achieving positive results in various local, regional and international sports forums.
