Salah Goudjil: “Armed Forces Foiled The Corrupts’ Plots, Accompanied The Popular Movement”

Acting National Assembly Speaker, Salah Goudjil, called on Algerians to participate strongly in the presidential elections due to be held on December 12, saying that the election campaign that was launched on Sunday is “the culmination of the process of preparing for this date, which was initiated by all components of the Algerian state”.

The head of the upper chamber of parliament praised the work of the Independent National Electoral Authority, which was “efficient, competent and highly professional, which will inevitably produce free and democratic elections with integrity and transparency”, at a extended meeting of the Council’s Bureau, which included the Parliamentary Observers and the Chairpersons of Parliamentary Groups, and which was allocated to decide on the program of the legislative works of the National Assembly for the period between November 24, 28, 2019, and to present and discuss the draft budget of the National Assembly for 2020, and which presented and discussed the draft budget of the National Assembly for 2020.

Goudjl considered that the five candidates signed the “Code of Ethics of Electoral Practices” and the media” in preparation for December 12 elections a first precedent since independence and a real beginning to extend the sovereignty of the Algerian people over their decision and freedom to choose the president in the framework of the establishment of real and effective democracy that Algerians hope and work to realize it.

Acting Speaker of the National Assembly insisted on “the importance of strong participation to choose a president who will lead Algeria in its new phase” and wished the Algerians would use the date of the elections “to send a clear message to the world to affirm their determination and desire to build a democratic and prosperous Algeria, and preserve the image and prestige of Algeria that can only be a bright Algeria with an active and pivotal role in the region and the world”.

Goudjil called on the Algerian people to “be vigilant against these pretenders of democracy, who practice violence and moral arbitrariness against the Algerian people by pursuing behaviors that are totally contrary to the customs and traditions that are practiced in such elections”.

He explained that the People’s National Army that is led by the Mujahid and Major General, Ahmad Gaid Salah, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army, foiled all the “schemes that were organized by the corrupts and their gangs, and accompanied the demands of the people for change and their work to ensure a democratic and safe transition despite the plot against Algeria and its institutions”.

The meeting concluded with the decision to resume the public sessions of the National Assembly, starting on Sunday, November 24, to submit and discuss the draft law containing the Finance Act 2020, to continue on Monday, November 25, to discuss the draft law containing the Finance Act 2020, this will be followed in the evening by the presentation and discussion of the organic law containing the organic law that is amending and supplementing the organic law No. 18-15 of September 2, 2018, on the Finance Laws.
