Security Investigation On Corruption Cases Is Approaching Sidi Said, Members Of The Central Union

The dean of the investigating magistrates at Algiers Sidi M’hamed court will soon open a corruption file in the management in the General Union of Algerian Workers, after the judicial authorities ended the investigation in this case, in which ministers and businessmen are involved, and who are currently members of the Central Union including the former General Manager, Abdelmadjid Sidi Said, and senior members of the National Secretariat of the Union. Year of Algerian workers

These new names are added to the corrupt ministers and businessmen who are currently in Algiers Harrache prison, in addition to other heavy files, most notably the manipulation of social services funds that workers have been deprived of for years and illegal wealth and exploitation of influence.

In this regard, Echorouk sources said that the dean of the investigative judges at Algiers court of Sidi M’hamed will officially begin the procedure for summoning the former Secretary-General of the General Union of Algerian Workers, Abdelmadjid Sidi Said, who has disappeared from view since the appointment of Salim Lebatcha as his successor on June 21st, to hear him in several corruption cases that are related to suspicions of governance since taking office at the head of the central union for more than two decades, ie since 1997, in addition to summoning a number of prominent members of the National Secretariat of the Union estimated by the information available to 10 members.

According to the same sources, the manipulation of social services funds of workers and heavy charges are directly related to the ministers and businessmen who have been imprisoned on charges of benefiting from undeserved privileges, the exploitation of influence which aimed at wasting workers’ money and the hidden financing of political parties.

Moreover, the case for which the former Secretary-General of the Central Union of Trade Unions, Abdelmadjid Sidi Said, will be charged is not the only one, but he will also be summoned by the Supreme Court investigator to hear him in the reopened Khalifa case, which will hold a number of names of ministers and senior officials for the first time after they were witnesses in the 2015 verdict.

Previously, the Misdemeanors Court summoned, last June, Sidi Said and the former organization official in the same organization, Tayeb Hamarnia, to investigate them in the case of falsification of customary documents on appointments to positions in the state office of the General Union of Algerian Workers.
