Security Services Investigate Conversion Of Algerians Into Shi’a Doctrine

Police and Gendarmerie services, in their various units across the eastern provinces of Algeria, began two days ago in-depth security investigations into the reported conversion of a large number of young Algerians into the Shiite doctrine under murky circumstances.

Such a doctrine is said to be spreading among numerous Algerian youngsters and in complete secrecy.

Initial inquiries conducted by the security services of the eastern provinces of Algeria have enabled the identification of some youth activists in various provincial municipalities.

A group of them were placed under the watchdog’s eye through surveillance and follow-up after discovering Shi’a rituals being held on numerous religious occasions such as the “Ashura” festival.

This followed an instruction sent of late by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and endowments to the officiating imams of the mosques of the provinces of the eastern part of the country,  urging them to resolutely address and to fight this nefarious conversion phenomenon facing these misguided youngsters in various ways especially inside the houses of Allah God Almighty, that is the Mosques.

Echorouk’s sources indicated that the relevant security services immediately informed the various partners about the presence of a number of young people hailing from several eastern Algerian municipalities who converted into the Shi’a doctrine  and spread their deleterious ideas among other youngsters through social networking sites and other secret methods.
