Security Servies Dismantle An International ISIS Terror Cell That Recruits Fighters

Sétif province’s security and intervention squad (eastern Algeria) dismantled on Thursday an international terror cell of three persons, while the fourth element escaped, and arrested them on charges of recruiting and sending fighters for ISIS abroad, reliable sources told Echorouk.

According to the same sources, the members of this cell have recommended several fighters who joined ISIS elements in the hotbeds of tension, such as Syria, Mali, and Iraq, in coordination with terrorist elements who are active at the Algerian and Malian borders.

The same sources confirmed that the security agents, during the arrest of terrorist elements in the city of El Eulma in Setif, seized electronic equipment and CDs and leaflets inciting the use of violence and chaos during the upcoming presidential elections.

According to preliminary data that was obtained by Echorouk, this terrorist cell, which woven suspicious relations with terrorist elements who are operating abroad, was planning to carry out an operation in the city of Setif on the eve of the upcoming presidential elections, but the professionalism of the elements of the search and intervention team in the security department of Setif province, aborted this malicious scheme .

On Thursday evening, the members of the terrorist cell were presented before the investigating magistrate at the Court of El-Eulma, and after the hearing, the judge ordered a sentence of provisional detention pending their trial.
