Spanish Consulate Granted 100.000 Visas To Algerians In 2017

Spain became France’s number one concurrent for the Schengen visa applicants by Algerians, with its consulates in both Algiers and Oran where it granted 100,000 visas in 2017 through PLS Applications Processing Center.

Algerians wishing to visit the European space resorted to the Spanish visa because of the facilities and flexibility that are applied in the study of applications, especially in light of the problems that are experienced by the French trader in Algeria, which recently reviewed its structure in Annaba and Oran after the saturation and the long-standing appointments, which confused many Algerians.

On Thursday evening, Spanish Ambassador to Algeria, Santiago Cabanas Ansorina, revealed that the new headquarters of the PLS Spain’s visa application center in Algiers El Biar, granted 50,000 visas, while the Oran consulate provided other 50,000 visas.

Santiago Cabana Ansorena congratulated PLS cener on the new headquarters in Algiers Al-Abiar, which he hoped would contribute to the promotion and improvement of the services that are offered to Algerians who are wishing to visit his country, which will contribute to enhancing relationships between the two countries and linking the bridges between the two peoples.

The capacity of PLS reception in Algeria reaches about 1000 applications per day, but the number of files that are processed reaches about 300 files per day, as confirmed by the Center’s users, in addition to the quality services, such as the use of SMS, Photocopying and passport delivery services.

In response to Echorouk question the questionon the percentage of rejection of applications, the Spanish ambassador explained that it ranges between 15 and 20%, which is acceptable – according to the equivalent of the world rates in force, but the spokesman did not provide specific agendas to study the files and said only, “We will improve the deadlines and the new center is created for this purpose.”

Tourist visas are on the top, followed by business visas, according to the Spanish diplomat.

For his part, Deputy General Manager of PLS International Company, Shekhar Agrawal, said that thousands of applications were processed since the opening of the new center on November 18, 2017.

He explained that his international body is located across five continents and 36 countries, adding that every new step is pursued by PLS to serve the customer first.

“We have more than a decade of experience in processing visa applications, and we are still pursuing this fundamental goal and proving that our team is working successfully by dealing with 36 diplomatic missions.
