Algerian-French relations are linked to the memory file, Minister of Mujahideen (war veterans), Tayeb Zitouni, said on Thursday.
He recalled the pending files that are currently exposed, namely the archive file, compensation for nuclear explosions in southern Algeria, the missing and the recovery of martyrs’ skulls.
Zitouni spoke about what he described as “the sincere and unclear will” of the French side.
“We are tired of hollow statements, and we expect the French side to start immediately resolving the issues at hand. If these problems are resolved, relations with France will be normal. If the opposite happens, we will now seek with our colleagues in other sectors and even in the parliament to discuss this issue at every meeting concerning In the Algerian-French relations, the memory file”, he explained during a press conference that was held on the sidelines of his supervision of the commemoration of the 58th anniversary of the National Day of Immigration in Chlef (western Algeria).
“We also have the means to pressurize, and if we can not solve this problem together, there are other means that we will rely on in the future, such as international treaties, as we have the right to restore the rights of Algerians and our history and property that are kept in Frech archive and museum. We just demand the restoration of all these rights.”
