Tunisia is seeking to attract 3 million Algerian tourists this summer, Tunisia’s national tourism bureau chief Fuad al-Wad said on Sunday.

The spokesman told Echorouk that nearly 2.5 million Algerians have visited Tunisia for tourism during the year 2017.

On the sidelines of the second edition of the Tourism Fair in Annaba (eastern Algeria), Fuad al-Wad revealed that the Algerian market is the most important market for Tunisian tourism because Algerian tourists constitute an important percentage of Tunisia visitors by nearly 40% of all tourists for the same year.

“Algerian tourists rank of top of the various tourists to the Tunisian cities, where the number of Algerian tourists destined for various hotels, resorts and Tunisian hotels reach more than 700.000 tourists”.

Regarding the latest statistics that were recorded during the current year 2018 by the Tunisian Tourism Office, the number of tourists reached 500.000 Algerian tourists between the beginning of January and the tenth of April.

“The influx of Algerian tourists to Tunisia is no longer limited to the summer season, but it has become popular throughout the year thanks to the efforts of the Tourism Ministry which today pays great attention to Algerian tourists.
