Weekly hour-long English course to compete with French starting from third school year cycle

The Ministry of National Education has put the final touches to the project of teaching English in the primary stage, which was submitted to the government for approval, where it was agreed to allocate one hour of instruction for the subject equally with the French language without canceling the latter, with its inclusion in the third year of primary school cycle.
The opening of an external recruitment competition is due shortly to hire relevant professors to avoid falling into the problem of pedagogical disability.
The joint work in which the Directorate of Personnel of the Ministry of Education, the General Inspectorate and the National Institute for Research in Education, initiated by the Ex-Sect, culminated in the wrapping up of a completed project on how to teach English in primary education, which is supposed to come into effect immediately after ratification.
On the part of the government, especially after reports and field investigations carried out by the competent authorities confirmed that the results of pupils in English are much better than their results in French, especially after the great desire of parents to open their children to foreign languages with the aim of mastering these languages at an early age.
The project, which is currently on the government’s table, and seen by “Echorouk” “, includes a number of proposals that all pour into how to teach this living material basic phase, as two proposals were raised regarding the size of the hour, the first proposal provides for the allocation of one hour of instruction equally.
The second proposal called for the final cancellation of the French subject from the annual study program and the inclusion of English alone as a foreign subject, based on the results of the ministry’s recent referendum among parents, which resulted in a 57 percent vote to abolish the French language.
With regard to the educational framework, two proposals have been submitted for selection, the first included working on the task of directors of national averages to coordinate with the managers of primary schools to achieve efficiency in the professors’ pedagogical level.
The second proposal was to open an external recruitment competition for university graduates to recruit English professors to avoid the problem of vacancy, provided that one professor covers all the starters at the level of a full geographical province.
It was also decided to include the teaching of the subject in the third year of elementary school cycle, to train students at this age to learn this language, with alive and global and very simple concepts and terminology, to achieve a large rate of absorption among them and make it “encouraging” and not “repulsive” for the young pupils
It will be launched immediately in the stage of printing textbooks, which are no less important than the previous stages, and distributed to primary schools, immediately after its approval by the Premiership.
