French ambassador to Algeria, Xavier Driancourt, refuted any “will” of his country to interfere in Algeria’s internal affairs, confirming that Paris follows “with a lot of respect the situation in Algeria.”
“France, like other European countries, is following what is happening in Algeria with great respect without any judgments or any will to interfere in Algerian affairs”, the French ambassador said, during a press statement after being received by the Head of State, Abdelkader Ben Saleh, who handed him credentials as new ambassador to Algeria, according to APS.
Xavier Driancourt said he had already worked in Algeria and that he was “aware that he occupies a very special position and time in the history of Algeria.”
“Algeria is a great country and we have great admiration and hope that we will develop relationships in all fields between the two governments, especially between the French and Algerian peoples. French people are impressed by the political maturity of the brave Algerian people.”
