Zemali: “Ansej Loans For Expatriates… And Personal Contribution To Be Made In Hard Currency”

“The start-up (micro-enterprise) plays an important role in the sustainable development of the economy and its diversification and we wish to encourage young graduates to create their own start-ups. We invited all institutions in relation with the micro-enterprise, such as banks or the trade register, to enlighten young project holders who wish to launch their micro-enterprises,” said Wednesday the Minister of Labor, of Employment and Social Security, Mr. Mourad Zemali, at the opening of the 7th edition of the National Exhibition of Employment “SALEM 2018” which is held from March 21 to 27 at the Palace of Exhibitions on the eastern outskirts of Algiers.
Asked about how to finance micro-enterprises created by Algerian nationals, the minister explained that “Algerian national settled overseas enjoy the same tax and per-tax advantages as local residents and their personal contributions must be in hard currency”, adding ” Algerian banks have started to open agencies in Europe, particularly in France, to make it easier for Algerian nationals settled there to make personal financial contributions. They will also be accompanied by these banks to benefit from new housing units in Algeria”.
Asked about the unemployment rate in Algeria, the minister said that “in September 2017, the unemployment rate was 11.7% against 12% in April 2017, but the number of job seekers is constantly increasing, it rose by 6% in 2017 “, adding” we cannot solve it by administrative decisions, but by investment and business creation. We have a shortage of one million businesses so that our economy can compete with other economies, so the goal of this show is to encourage young people to start micro-enterprises, because it’s easier to create micro-business “.
Mr. Zemali further recalled that “young people no longer waver to resort to aid schemes, because the credit granted under these mechanisms is 100% enhanced,” adding “the mortality rate of companies does not exceed 1O %. This is a very appreciable rate, since in other countries this rate exceeds 30%”.
In this regard, the Minister stressed that “young people do not have to worry, since we have salvaging funds that guarantee the credits and equipment acquired under these mechanisms meant to help young hopeful promoters and entrepreneurs”.
