Zimbabwean Media: “Beating Algeria Greens Is A Fantasy”
Zimbabwean media called on the players of their country to take advantage of the absence of Algerian fans from the match that they will play against their local team next Thursday, to achieve a positive result in the third African match in the qualifiers, considering that the fans of the Algerian team were prevented from attending the match, due to the Coronavirus spread in the country for 8 months, and this will be in the interest of the players of the Croatia coach Zdravko Logarusić to realize a victory over the players of Djamel Belmadi.
Sunday Mail newspaper, which tried to raise the morale of the “Loga” players at first, considered that beating the Algerian national team at home is “a fantasy”, given the strength of the African champion in the last two years, and the strong group of players included in the national team, adding that all of the team’s players are active in the most famous European championships, in many Asian clubs and have not stopped good performance for a long time.
The same media did not stop at this point, but criticized the options of coach Zdravko Logarosic, considering that he had largely failed to summon the players, by inviting some of the physically challenged elements, and the decline in their technical level, marginalizing several fit players, like the third top scorer in the South African Championship with 13 goals.
It is known that the Algerian team will host its Zimbabwean counterpart on the 12th of November at the Olympic Stadium on July 5, for the third round of the 2022 African Nations Cup qualifiers scheduled in Cameroon, before meeting the same team for the fourth round of the competition on the 16th of the same month in the capital, Harare, on the National Stadium of Harare.
The Zimbabwean national team is expected to arrive in Algeria on Tuesday, November 10, on a direct flight from the capital, “Harare”, where the mission will include 34 members, provided that the Greens’ competitor will reside in one of the hotels in Bab Ezzouar, Algiers.
The national team tops Group H after two rounds of the CAN qualifiers, with six points, followed by Zimbabwe in the second rank with four points, then Botswana with one point and the Zambia team is in the last ranking without a score.
