16 Tons of Algeria Medical Aid reaches Gaza
Over 16 tons of Algerian’s medical aid reached Gaza strip on Tuesday.
Algerian ambassador to Cairo handed over the medical aid to the representative of the Palestinian Red Crescent, Nadir Arabawi, as a first batch of aid to the victims of the Israeli bombardment on the sector a few days ago.
The Algerian ambassador told Echorouk in Cairo that the cargo Algerian military plane, which reached Arish International Airport in the North of Sinai is the first of its kind at the moment; “It was carrying the value of 16 tons of aid as a first batch only, and there will be other daily batches in the next few days. It was sent by the Algerian government directly to the people who were affected by the Israeli attacks against Gaza, and through the Palestinian Red Crescent”.
“The cargo Algerian military plane, which was received and delivered to the Rafah crossing, carried a large amount of drugs for urgent cases and antibiotics, as well as food and furniture coverings. This medical aid was accompanied by a delegation of surgeons in various disciplines especially orthopedics and paediatrics. The Egyptian authorities provided all the facilities for Algeria, accelerating the process of entry and delivery of aid to beneficiaries in Gaza”.
The ambassador had visited the hospital of Arish, which includes dozens of injured among Palestinians, as a result of Israeli attacks against the Gaza Strip, and had a look at their situation.
It is noteworthy that the Algerian aid preceded the entry of the Arab ministerial delegation, which visited Gaza on Tuesday, without the presence of the Algerian Foreign Minister, Mourad Medelci, and is composed of 11 Arab foreign ministers, and the Turkish Foreign Minister Davut oglu, and it comes with to the Egyptian FM Mohamed Kamel Amr, Iraqi FM Hoshyar Zebari, Tunisia FM Rafiq Salam, Sudanese FM Ali Karti, Lebanon FM Adnan Mansour, Palestine FM Riyad al-Malki, Kuwait FM Sabah Khaled Al-Sabah, Morocco FM Saad Eddine El Othmani, and Jordan FM Nasser Judeh, as THE ministerial delegation will be accompanied by both Qatar FM Hamad bin Jassim, Saudi FM Nizar Madani, as the Arab delegation was chaired by the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Dr. Nabil Elaraby. According to the Arab League, the visit aim to overview the situation in Gaza and discuss ways to stop the bleeding of the Palestinians in the strip.
