Agerian government intends to raise the price of water, General Manager of the Algeria Water, Ait Mansour Abdennour, said on the 1st National Radio’s program “Morning guest” on Sunday.

“This decision will not be applied in the present, given that the government did not include it as a priority, while potable water leaks rate reached 45%.”
“Algeria Water will start a campaign which slogan is “pay your bill and we are at your service”, aiming to encourage citizens to pay their overdue bills and reduce the debts that it owed them, and which are estimated at more than 35 billion DZD, ie 3,500 billion centimes, this figure represents a very significant burden on the shoulders of the company, and retrieving this money will contribute to providing quality service to the citizens.
“The campaign aims to encourage citizens to pay overdue bills for the company. The campaign is not constrained by certain deadlines and will give citizens the opportunities to pay their bills in installments. I am surprised at the same time, due to the absence of the culture of paying water bills on time.”
“Paying the bills  is considered a civilized behavior, and an act of citizenship, because what he is doing does not repay the real value of consumed water, but only reimburse a part of the service that is carried out by the state. Seawater desalination process costs the institution between 60 and 80 Algerian dinars per cubic meter, without talking about the costs of the completion of the process of cleaning canals and reservoirs and hooking up to the faucets, but the state did not specify the price per cubic meter by 7 dinars only.”
