The government imposed new measures to limit bus speed in particular and collective transport means in general along with lorries. Vehicles which have more than 9 seats should not exceed 100 km/h.

This comes in an urgent attempt to reduce traffic accidents which are on the rise, according to official statistics.

The government fixed the highest speed for 9-seat-buses at 100 km/h in motorway, 80 km/h out of housing compounds and 40 km/h inside them.

Vehicles who weigh more than 19 tons should not exceed 80 km/h in motorways, 70 km/h outside housing compounds and 40 km/h inside them.

Vehicles carrying hazardous substances should not exceed 70 km/h in motorway, 60 km/h inside housing compounds and 30 km/h inside them.

In bad weather, vehicles should reduce their speed to 20 km/h in motorways and 10 km/h inside housing compounds.
