Abdelkader Bensalah Dismisses The National Security General Manager

President Abdelkader Bensalah appointed, on Saturday, Ounissi Khalifa, as the new General Manager of National Security, replacing Abdelkader Kara Bouhedba, who was dismissed from office, a presidential statement said.

The statement said; “Today, Saturday, August 24, 2019, Mr. Abdelkader Bensalah, President of the State, appointed Mr. Ounissi Khelifa, as General Manager of National Security, succeeding Mr. Abdelkader Kara Bouhedba, who was dismissed from office.”

Ounissi Khelifa has served as a member of the General Directorate of National Security for more than 11 years and was previously the Director of the Border Police, and he retired in 2012.

The dismissal of Bouhadba, the General Director of National Security, comes after only six months at the command of the security services, where he was appointed to the same position last February.

Abdelkader Kara Bouhadba was the head of the judicial police and the director of the police schools and education. He was retired in 2016, and in February he succeeded Colonel Mostafa Lahbiri, head of the security services.

The decision to dismiss Kara Bouhdma from office comes in the context of the scandal that was caused by the concert of the rap singer Soolking, which has so far dropped three senior officials, Sami Benchikh, Director of the National Bureau of Copyright and Related Rights, and Mariem Merdassi, Minister of Culture, and the General Director of National Security.
