Algeria allocates 619,000 billion to refresh hospitals

The government will allocate more than 619,000 billion DZ to achieve health sector program after it had signed deals by mutual agreement to catch up 80 percent of delay, Echorouk has learnt.

Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal hurried the health ministry and asked it to present a recent report about achieved projects and assess the last five-year-plan.

According to the same sources, the ministry caught up a delay caused by former minister Djamel Ould Abbas. It has reduced it to 45 percent from 80 percent since March 2013.

Current minister Boudiaf held this week a meeting to speed up the construction of 5 health centers in Algiers, Tizi Ouzou, Tlemcen, Constantine and Ouargula respectively.

An Italian group, a South Korean, a British, French and another South Korean group were assigned for the construction of the centers respectively.

The health program also includes five other centers in Sidi Belabbes, Bechar, Bejaia, Annaba and Batna respectively. They will be constructed after selective consultations in conformity to a ministerial decree.

The centers specifications will provide operating conditions in conformity to international standards thanks to modern technologies.

The last five-year-program for health sector includes the construction of 1,500 health buildings including 172 hospitals, 45 complexes, 337 polyvalent centers, 1,000 treatment rooms, 17 schools for paramedical training and 70 centers for handicapped people.
