Algeria Backs Up Saudi Arabia In Its Crisis With Canada

Algeria expressed concern about the adverse repercussions of the crisis in relations between Saudi Arabia and Canada, calling for respect for the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs, according to a statement issued on Thursday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Algiers.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Algeria “is following with concern the repercussions of the crisis in relations between Saudi Arabia and Canada.”

“Algeria calls for the need for States to invoke in their external relations the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, especially as they relate to respect for the sovereignty of States and non-interference in their internal affairs,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added.

In this context, the Ministry also noted “the deep brotherly relations linking Algeria and Saudi Arabia.”

Relations between the two countries have been strained since Monday, when Riyadh expelled the Canadian Ambassador, withdrew its Ambassador posted in Toronto and froze all new business dealings and investments with Canada.

Riyadh also said it would transfer thousands of Saudi students studying in Canada to study in other countries, while Saudi Arabian Airlines said it would suspend all flights to Toronto.

Saudi Arabia had previously announced the suspension of all health care programs in Canada and the transfer elsewhere of all its patients treated in Canadian hospitals and clinics.

Canada’s public criticism of Riyadh’s crackdown on Saudi human rights activists has angered the Riyadh authorities.

But Canadian Premier Trudeau did not budge from Wednesday’s position and refused to apologize.

“Canada will always speak in a secret and public voice about human rights issues,” Mr Trudeau underlined.

“We do not want our relations with Saudi Arabia to be bad,” he said, adding that Ottawa was aware that Riyadh had “made progress on human rights.”

PM Trudeau also stated that his country’s foreign minister, Christia Freeland, held “lengthy talks” Tuesday with Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir as part of efforts to resolve the ongoing dispute.

Mr Ali Hong Kong as I told you are free to choose your side
However still you owe to Algeria a big time. Saoudi is not the main responsable if the destruction of these Countries may be they paid NATO to take incharge the Bombing and so on.and you can not deny that Canada is a member of NATO.so you should be at least lawfull and reconize they are also responsable.many kids killed by NATO in Iraq Lybia syria ..Etc.and your boss didn't present his excuses.so why he is pretending defending freedom in saoudia and they were parteners.arabs now understand the game.Better to him to to shutup.

I am speaking about myself. Canada was good to me. Why I have to deny that to please you or anyone else.

Back to the subject, I am supporting Canada because it is my country and it's a democracy. It welcomed thousands of refugees. Saudi Arabiya helped terrorists to destroy Syria, Algeria, Libya and now Yemen

Mr Ali Hong Kong. Khobziste is not a good quality however nowadays so many of mankind you can buy just with a piece of bread to turn them easily against they mother countries.Algeria gave to you a least a free education which allowed you to travel to canada et find job
there.you should be thankfull first to Algeria before canada and to God before everything because none gives to you food except god.But you are free and you can refuse to be thankfull to Algeria because Algeria is bigger than everybody.

I am not surprised. Dictators support each others. Both regimes, Algerian and Saudi , killed their own peoples. I remember when I decided to leave Algeria 26 years ago I wasn’t thinking about going to another Muslim country but Canada was my destination. I found respect, work and citizenship that allowed me to work in different countries. Thank you Canada for taking care of me

To number 2..every body knows and can conclude what you sad...but even we suppose that's true never support foreign forces to defeat your local governments ...and I have to recall you that this kind of fatwa which led to destroy the countries you are talking about...fatwa calling NATO to kill gadafi sadam bachar...etc...if you have internal issues solve them your self rather to go for easy solutions supporting big nations and forces against our local governments even they are suspected to be corrupt and keep in mind..don't be so confused.
.لا يرقبون في مؤمن إلا ولاذمة...
