Algeria Decides to Suspend Flights to Brussels Indefinitely
All Air Algérie flights that are heading to Belgium were cancelled indefinitely, after the dual suicide terror attacks that hit Brussels’ airport and metro on Tuesday, Air Algérie General Manager, Mohamed Abdou Bouderbala, said.
This came during a press conference which was held by Bouderbala, on Tuesday, in Oran (Western Algeria), justifying these actions to the security and safety of passengers, and he added, “We will raise this procedure once things will return to normal, and when the Belgian authorities will decide to resume the activity of this airport”, in while the lifting of the state of alert reached its highest levels across all the Algerian airports, in coordination with the security services in case of any terrorist attacks that could target planes or airports.
Algeria strongly condemned the attacks on the Belgian capital, describing them as “cowardly and heinous terrorist acts”.
Foreign Ministry announced on the appointment of two follow-up cells; the first at the headquarters of Algeria Embassy in Brussels, and the second at the headquarters of the Algerian Foreign Ministry, and the numbers are put at the disposal of citizens to inquire about their loved ones in Belgium, namely:
