Algerian initiative to resolve the crisis in Libya drowns in the mud of fighting that erupted in the weekend between rival factions in the capital of the east, Benghazi, amid talk about intervention of regional powers in this conflict, that was realized by the involvement of Egyptian warplanes in the internal conflict of Libya, according to what was reported by the America Associated Press.
Sources linked to the file of the Algerian initiative on Libya said October 13 is the date of gathering the conflicting parties in the Libyan capital, before speaking about another date which is October 18, but the two deadlines ended without a result, and the third date that has not been confirmed in an official capacity is the end of this month, but the return of hegemony to the voice of bullets at the expense of the dialogue language, increased the possibility of failure.
Renewing the fighting for control of the second major Libyan cities that is located in the center, between the “Council of the rebels in Benghazi” that consists of those who rebelled against the regime of the late Colonel, Muammar Gaddafi, and the commander of what is known as “Karama” Operation of Dignity”, the retired Major General Khalifa Hafter, who is backed by Egypt, to make the Algerian mission efforts more difficult, which aim to bring together the conflicting parties to the dialogue table.
Despite the confirmation of the Foreign Minister, Ramtane Lamamra, last week, about the existence of coordination between Algeria and Egypt on the Libyan crisis, but this coordination has soon found false, as confirmed by Egyptian officials, who participate with Egyptian warplanes in supporting the forces of Major General Khalifa Hafter, against his opponents from the “Council of Benghazi rebels” affiliated Islamists.
Even though the Egyptian authorities denied what was reported by America Associated Press, regarding the participation of Egyptian planes in the internal affairs of Libya, but the news are still frequent on the continuation of the Egyptian authorities in the transfer of arms shipments for the benefit of Hafter in the East, which means that Cairo was involved in one way or another in dumping Algerian initiative through pouring more gasoline on the fire in Libya’s internal fighting, a position that can not be read only through the creation of an atmosphere that is not helping the dialogue.
