Algeria: New Discounts Up To 50 Million Centimes (DA) In New Car Prices

Car assembling plants are offering attractive discounts of up to 50 million centimes (DA) in Algeria, including for 50 new vehicles that will be delivered immediately at the National Automobile, Truck and Motorcycle Showroom in Tlemcen, west of the country, not far from the assembling factories of Renault, Hyundai and Volkswagen.

The third edition of the National Showroom of Cars, Trucks and Motorcycles is scheduled to be held in Tlemcen from 28 June to 3 July, while the management of the exhibition palace in the capital, Algiers is still pondering on the 19th edition of the International Motor Show, expected to be held at the Pins Maritimes exhibition hall after a three-year absence.

The local showroom, organized by “Diasvent”, in coordination with the Palace of Arts and Exhibitions in the district of Alkademia in the province of Tlemcen, will be attended by seven producers of mechanical industries in Algeria, according to a statement made by the director of the Diasavent Foundation Diab Abid Fathallah to the APS Agency.

According to the same source, more than 50 vehicles of various types will be allocated to be sold in this showroom with discounts of up to 500 thousand Dinars per vehicle, or 50 million centimes.

“This event is an opportunity for citizens to purchase new cars at enticing prices with immediate delivery,” said Diab Abid Fathallah, Director of Dasafant.

“This coincides with the summer season and comes to facilitate the purchase of brand-new cars within a short period of time.” , he asserted.

Visitors to this showroom can get acquainted with the different brands of vehicles that are assembled in Algeria and their prices from 9 am to 9 pm,” according to the same source.

In parallel with this showroom, an awareness campaign on traffic safety and promotion of consumption of the national product will be organized.

As a recall, the Foundation “Diasvent” which was founded in 2014 in Tlemcen, is much reliable in the organization of economic and advertisement events and has already overseen the smooth organization of the previous two editions of this showroom.

This comes in a context where the national auto market is experiencing a major recession following the boycotts launched by the pioneers of the social networking sites, under the slogan “Khaliha Tsa’adi”, or “let them rust” which caused major financial losses, as deplored to this effect by the car manufacturers based in Algeria.

In this line, the Finance and Budget Committee of the National People’s Assembly on Wednesday rescinded article 6 of the additional finance bill of 2018, which provides for the abolition of tax exemptions for Algeria’s automobile manufacturers, and decided to retain these privileges to ensure the stability of locally manufactured cars in a bid to avert popular protests.
