The French Foreign Affairs Minister Laurent Fabius has revealed that Algeria has allowed the passage of the French war jets on its territories as part of the military operations to dislodge the terrorist groups operating in Northern Mali.

The French Press Agency “France Press” has yesterday quoted Laurent Fabius as saying to the French news channel LCI that “ The Algerian authorities have given their green light to the French war planes to fly over its sky without prior conditions”, declining giving further details on the issue.

The Algerian official didn’t release any official statement to confirm or deny this information but the a declaration made by a top French official in the person of the Foreign Affairs Minister should have pushed the Algerian side to react accordingly out of respect to the Algerian people and the national sovereignty.

It’s worth mentioning that only the defence minister in his quality of the president’s personal representative is eligible to grant a temporary permission for planes to fly over the Algerian territories 21 days before the D day.

The French authorities have conducted last Friday a military operation against terrorist groups operating in the central and northern parts of the West African country with the aim to stop the progression of these groups toward the capital city Bamako, the French Premier, Jean Marc Ayrault has declared.
