Algeria Prefers to Negotiate with Azawad, Ansareddine Movements

Commissioner of ‭peace and‬ security at the African Union, Ramtane Lamamra on Saturday in Addis Ababa that ‭the‬ use of power in ‭Mali there will ‭not ‭be ‭a positive impact on the evolution of the situation in ‭this ‭country‭. ‬

In a statement to the International press ‭Mr. Lamamra said;‭ “Mali crisis is very complicated, and resorting to the use of force can not affect positively the evolution of the situation”.

Lamamra statement, on the eve of the 19th Symposium of Heads of the African Union States and Governments, to be held on 15 and 16 July in Addis Ababa, is a response to a question about the possibility of a “military intervention” as reported by the international press quoting diplomats; “These statements must be interpreted in their context. There are statements about the military intervention intended for internal consumption and others in a particular context, as some statements were exploited for propaganda, as the current logic requires resort to all peaceful means. “

“The priority in Mali today is to appoint a government of national unity that represents all parties in Bamako and to be able to embody the national sovereignty and to take necessary measures to allow identification of transition period and electoral calendar, and why not amendments of the Constitution.”
