Algeria/Real estate agency “Rym” under legal investigation over dud cheques

The court of the constituency of Cheraga, in upper Algiers , is now examining a fraud and breach of trust affair involving the head of a real estate agency and a customer over a purchase transaction of a plot of land estimated at 70 million dinars.

The affair goes back to November 2007 when the buyer (Z. S.) wanted to sell to the head of a Cheraga-based estate agency (B. A) a 4 hectare plot of land for a cost averaging 70 million dinars after the carrying out of the necessary formalities.

As a matter of fact, the buyer of the plot of land was foisted by the estate agency owner a dud cheque which was of course turned down as bad by the nearby BADR Bank which immediately alerted the relevant authorities.
The bamboozled customer told Echorouk newspaper, after discovering that he had been swindled, he had the firm intention of taking legal proceedings against the dishonest man.

The swindler is said to have served a prison sentence in the recent past for similar offences.
