Algerian Customs’ seize 67 thousand imported “Viagra” pills at the port of Algiers

Elements of the main control Inspectorate of the Directorate of Regional Customs at the port of the capital Algiers, succeeded, last week, in impounding a big container packed with more than 67 thousand and 200 units of sexual tonics of various species commonly known as “Viagra pills” after a thorough search.

The importer, who is now in police custody, sought to  funnel this important load of these Viagra pills and related products illegally into the national market.

According to official customs source, this major load of this sexual tonics, was intercepted and seized following information received by the command of the main control inspectorate, that an importer residing in Algiers was trying to smuggle large quantities of “Viagra” pills into the national territory through the port of the capital.

Upon receiving the information, the elements of the customs’ control Inspectorate were on the look-out and minutely searched all containers especially those coming from the People’s Republic of China, and this resulted in locating the suspected container and the rounding up of the dishonest importer who has now to face legal proceedings.
